OUR STORY
Here's the scoop on Little Mo Rescue – it's all about our most challenging yet totally awesome rescue cats. So, why did I name the whole rescue thing after one cat? Well, that's because this particular furball taught me some major life lessons about love without conditions, never throwing in the towel, and having the patience of a saint.
Let's talk about Mo (yeah, we didn't know she was a girl at first, so that name stuck). Mo rolled in injured, wild as a buck, scared out of her wits, and practically untouchable.
I won't lie, this cat had me on edge, hissing and spitting every time I came close.
OUR STORY
Mo needed emergency surgery to lose a nasty infection-riddled leg; guess what, she came out of surgery still hissing her little heart out. I basically camped out next to her cage for days, sometimes shooting the breeze with her, other times just zoning out with a book or my phone. Now here's the kicker – she was all friendly with the other cats but wasn't buying any of my friendship tokens.
Fast forward a couple of months, and she finally gives in a bit, letting me stroke her, but only if we're playing with her all-time favorite toy. We took it slow, step by step, and eventually built up this trust that now has her being all lovey-dovey, craving cuddles, and demanding my attention round the clock. It's like a real-life miracle. Mo taught me that first impressions can be as phony as a three-dollar bill and that with time, a boatload of patience, and a heap of love, you can pretty much pull off anything.
The Long Term Goal
Our mission in fundraising for our cat sanctuary is crystal clear – we're on a heartfelt quest to create a haven for our feline friends that's second to none. With your generous support, we're aiming to provide a safe and nurturing environment where rescued cats can flourish and find their forever homes.
